Two motorcycle-borne masked assailants had opened fire at Kadmiya while he was in his shop on Sunday evening. Kadmiya sustained injuries in his right leg and is currently undergoing treatment at the Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital in Birgunj. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bir Bahadur Oli, an Indian national identified as Rabi Singh has been arrested in connection with his involvement in the shooting incident, while two Nepal Police personnel, who had arrested Singh including two others suspected of having played a role in the shooting, have been injured. Police have recovered 10 rounds of ammunition and a revolver from the site. One assailant had somehow managed to escape during the ensuing confusion following the incident, police said.SP Diwesh Lohani said that they have also found two socket bombs (improvised explosive devices) from the site, which was later diffused by Nepal Army’s Bomb Disposal Squad. -
